Mar 22, 2017 · A true test would be a high gear (4, 5 or 6) low RPM (2,500) + high load roll on throttle uphill. If the tach needle sweeps up at all with no road speed increase indication, the clutch is certainly slipping.

Feb 27, 2016 · Any advice from experienced CVT operators for use of low and high gears ? I assumed low range was for situations where the engine might bog down such as on very steep grades. Or should I use low gear whenever I have a heavy load going uphill. And again is the belt supposed to slip under a load to keep the engine rpm up?
